California teen on a shoe string budget makes prom dress from soda tabs



They finally had one custom-made after the teen refused to buy a white wedding gown and dye it for prom.Librach now designs and manufactures her own styles, including prom dresses sizes 14 to 40, which she sells on her site, Sydneyscloset ."I wanted to place an order, a very nice order,Wholesale Cheap Sexy chiffon strapless beaded Beach Evening/Prom Dresses and they said, 'We're not making the dress in any size larger than 14,'" Librach recalled. "I said,Discount Spandex One Shoulder Beaded Draped Sheath Evening/Prom Dresses 'Let me understand this, you're going to knock off an evening gown worn by a plus-size celebrity and you're not going to make it for plus-size women?' So I got angry, I got frustrated and I said, 'Damn it, I'll make it myself.' That dress sold out."Times City Beat writer Nita Lelyveld on Sunday told the story of Brie Fainblit, a Palmdale teen who is turning heads with her prom dress.The dress is not from a fancy designer. She could never afford that. So she made it herself, using soda can tabs.



Lelyveld writes:She wants to be Highland High's prom queen. She wants to turn heads.Brie lives with her mother, who is disabled, and her aunt, who works two part-time jobs to support them.Often there is not enough money for food. There is never enough for new clothes. Usually Brie finds what she can at the local Goodwill, but the prom dresses there are too big and too froufrou.So back in September, with the dance a distant dot on a calendar, she decided to make one of her own — out of soda can tabs, for free.Prom is Friday. The dress is not finished.Wholesale Cheap Tulle v-neck applique floor length ball gown wedding/party dress The tabs, meanwhile, have taken their toll: Brie and her mother both have Band-Aid fingers.Friday, April 11 is prom night for Brie Fainblit, and she's determined to look incredible.



To look incredible, she's doing something incredible. The high school senior lives with her mother, who is disabled, and her aunt, who works two part-time jobs to support them.There are times they go without water or electricity because the bills aren't paid. According to the LA Times, Brie, her aunt and mother sleep together in the den, closing off the rest of the house to lower the bills.But the Palmdale teen wants to go to the dance, and while she's short on money, she's not short on talent or innovation. Brie is making her own dress out of soda-can tabs.
